Yel K. Banto (they/them)
Yel K. Banto was born in Chile and moved during her childhood to Switzerland. She is currently based in Lausanne and Geneva, where she explores the intersections between choreography, performance, visual arts, writing, design and crafts. They spend a lot of time observing their environment and like to imagine it as an ambient composition of movement, light and sound.
Drawing on improvisations, personal experiences, dreams, everyday observations, tarot readings, fairy tales and medieval archives, Yel K. Banto likes to create stories and rethink history from other perspectives to encourage the audience to question the dominant norms that shape our daily lives.
